meet Ingrid at voices of safety

MEET INGRID

Job Title: Professional Truck Driver, Independent Owner/Operator
From: Boone, North Carolina
Fun Fact: “My truck is named Miss Faith – because I have faith with me every mile I go. My last truck was named Miss Daisy, from the movieDriving Miss Daisy, for how independent she was – as I am!”

Ingrid in Her Own Words

My father owned a road construction company and I started working with him at the age of 18, learning to drive dump trucks and heavy equipment. I got my first truck in 1979, and trucking is truly my passion – it was a dream that became reality.

As a truck driver, I’m blessed to see the most beautiful landscapes, in every form. I love meeting many amazing people along my travels. I have an enormous sense of gratitude, satisfaction, and accomplishment on the road. In 40 years, I’ve logged more than four million miles of safe driving and have received many professional awards. I’m involved with several organizations and charities and have joined others in the trucking industry to give back to our community. A few organizations I'm involved with include the Special Olympics, Christmas Across America, and Trucker Buddy International.

I view the people I haul for as not just friends, but family too. Getting to my destination safely every time helps inspire me as a driver. I have two amazing, successful daughters, sons-in law, and grandchildren in Georgia. They show there’s purpose in everything I do in life and every mile I roll!
